yeah, I know. I got a rejection this week too -- from an editor who is one of my best friends, no less! This particular editor has never given me a break based on our relationship. I go through the slush pile same as everybody else...

I haven't heard back yet: not sure whether this is good or bad (mind you, I barely made the deadline, so it may not have reached the top of the pile yet).

As for choosing somewhere else to send it, I usually go straight to http://storypilot.com/ and tell it to sort by pay rate.
