Female Appreciation Month - Chanel Cole
Yes, Chanel Cole.
Who?
Australian Idol, Season 2. Came fifth. No-one else really remembers her.
She was completely out of place in Idol, of course. Sensual, jazzy stylings, entirely non-radio-friendly at the time. Self-destructed in spectacular fashion on an awful rendition of "Hit 'Em Up Style". After Idol, did virtually nothing, except a strange Portishead-style album with fellow Idol (and then partner) Daniel Belle and producers Statler and Waldorf, "Spook: The Dusk Project". [1]
Still easily the best thing to come out of that show. And also still waiting for that long-promised solo album, Chanel!
