Tuesday's Ten Minute Tale - the setup!

Okily-dokily... the first three people to post with a word, phrase, topic, theme, name, or whatever, dictate the direction of the story. I'll endeavour to incorporate all three suggestions, and write it within ten minutes of receiving the third post, work allowing. Then I'll post the result.
