Somehow I don't think it's going to happen this year. ;) [livejournal.com profile] battblush definitely looks like the winner from my buddy list this year... nice work, Lyn! And [livejournal.com profile] battersblog's not far behind, nor is [livejournal.com profile] cassiphone.

[livejournal.com profile] azhure seems to be taking it easy. Slacker!

[livejournal.com profile] markdeniz, [livejournal.com profile] benpayne, what are you doing? Don't let the team down! That's my job!

:P I've been sick, so I'm glad to have any words done at all :)

I'm trying to fit it all in around the full time job, which involves sacrificing maorning tea and lunch and actually using the laptop I bought for just this behaviour, then not watching TV in the evenings.

Frankly, I am just slightly amused at how much joy and despair we're putting into spending one month trying to match the pace Sean Williams keeps up every day of the damn year. And, you know, I'm of the long-held opinion that the count of how many words you've written is a useless number-- it's the words you sell that count.

True, but you can't sell the words unless you write the words first. In mathematic terms:

S <= W

Where S is the words sold [1], and W is the words written. S must always be less than or equal to W. So the larger W is, the greater potential value S has. QED.

[1] Except for reprints, of course. I mean first time original sales. Yeah. Uh...

All true, but if you can only claim "I wrote half a million words this year" then, for anyone knows, you could be a fanficcer. If you can claim "I sold half a million words this year," you're Sean Williams.

Slight difference in cred, is all I'm saying.

Cheers,

Lee
