Out doing "The Number 23" promotions, director Joel Schumacher ("The Lost Boys", "Batman & Robin") told IESB he would like a go at directing an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "Sandman".

*runs away screaming*

See, but if you had written "Joel Schumacher (Falling Down, Phone Booth, Tigerland)" it wouldn't have seemed so scary.

Neil Gaiman's blog points out that Schumacher is only one of many to have expressed interest: Warner Bros studio head told him he "got weekly calls from people who wanted to make, direct or star in a Sandman film" including (wait for it) Michael Jackson.

Now you can run away screaming!

(This may explain who Jackson was trying to look like after all that plastic surgery and skin bleaching... though by now, he's probably a little old to play Delirium.)
